What to Expect on Sunday

Worship Schedule:

September through June

Contemplative Service 9:00 am in The Hayloft Sanctuary

Contemporary Service 10:30 am in Celebration Hall

Contemplative Worship

Our 9am service is in a contemplative style that invites you to reflect upon our Lord using periods of silence for reflection and inner prayer, and also short, spoken praises, prayers or songs, in addition to the sermon. This service lasts about one hour. The 9am service is held in our Hayloft Sanctuary. You can find the Hayloft Sanctuary by parking in the first lot you enter as you arrive at the church and go through the double doors and turn left. There is no dress code but if you want a guide most folks dress in business casual to casual. Children are always welcome to attend this service.

Contemporary Worship

Our 10:30am service has a more casual feel than the 9:00am service. It has periods of singing, prayer, and sermon. During this service, children can attend Sunday school. The 10:30am service is held in Celebration Hall. To get to Celebration Hall drive past the first parking lot and turn left into the lot behind the church. Enter through the door just to the left of the octagonal shaped end of the building. You will then be in our welcome room and you will proceed to the hallway beyond and turn right to enter through the double doors to Celebration Hall. Dress for this service tends to be business casual to casual. This service lasts approximately and hour and fifteen minutes.

For Children

As leaders and volunteers in the Covenant Presbyterian Church Children’s Ministry, we are committed to providing a warm welcome to our families, a safe environment for our children and a loving place for both children and parents to experience the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We provide Gospel-Centered classes for students -toddlers to fifth grade, after the singing portion of our 10:30am Service and during our summer services. All are welcome!

Our nursery for infants is open during the entire service in room 6.

Communion (gluten-free matzo) is served on the first Sunday of each month at both services.

We serve coffee each Sunday in the Welcome Room featuring our very own coffee blend roasted fresh at Giv Coffee in Canton. We will have hospitality hour on the second Sunday of each month directly following each service. After each service proceed to the Welcome Room to enjoy coffee, treats, and a chance to meet and greet folks. All are welcome at both services.

Accessibility and Helps

Covenant welcomes people with disabilities. All worship services and the main building are wheelchair accessible, with ground-level doors to Celebration Hall and an elevator which leads to The Hayloft Sanctuary. Most internal doors are standard width but, due to the historic nature of the building, a few are not. For children who may need assistance in Sunday School, we offer ability partners who can be trained to meet the needs of your child. Please contact to arrange help for your children where needed. Hearing devices are available for the hearing impaired. Please contact an usher prior to the start of worship.

Winter Storm Policy

What to Expect Outside

Things you should know about summer outdoor services:

1) Service starts at 9:30am. Outdoor worship Sundays run from Father’s Day, June 16 through September 1. Park in back of the church in the larger lots. Most folks park in the lower lot near the quonset hut, or at the far end of the upper lot near the cross on the hill.

2) Feel free to bring a lawn chair or cushion to sit on if the outdoor benches present a problem for you.

3) We try to make the service a little shorter when we are outside. Service will end between 10:30am and 10:40am.

4) The nursery will still be open in the church and there will be Sunday school for children age 3 through grade 5. Sunday school students will be dismissed from the outdoor worship area and will return to the outdoor worship area at the end of the service.

5) Weather conditions that will move the service inside to Celebration Hall are rain, thunderstorms, and excessive heat and humidity. We will post it to Facebook too.

6) Dress in the summer is outdoor casual.

7) Sunscreen/bug spray is available from the ushers if you forgot yours.
