Youth at the Barn

Equipping STUDENTS to love God and love others . . .

A stellar team brings their creativity and genuine love for youth, middle school and high school, to a weekly large group meeting, and are committed to building long-term spiritually based relationships in small group personal setting.


Our youth groups and activities welcome any young person including friends from school and other activities, and non-believing friends. 


We encourage young people to ask questions, explore their faith and make it their own rather than simply a family tradition. We strive to make youth groups relevant to their lives, engaging and fun. We create an emotionally safe atmosphere where individuals are respected, listened to, and taken seriously. Our leaders are glad to engage in one-on-one mentoring, discipleship, and simply being a sounding board; they also share their own lives and hearts as they seek to connect with the students.


Students in grades 9-12, Radiate Youth Group, meet Sundays from 6:30-8:30pm.  Students in grades 6-8, H2O Youth Group, meet Thursdays from 7:00-8:30pm. We meet in Celebration Hall for fellowship, a Bible lesson, small groups, and games. Bring a Bible, face mask, and water (recommended). In the event of inclement weather or an outbreak in the schools we will meet via Zoom.

MESSY GAME DAY

Saturday, May 22, 2021 from 2pm to 5pm


Our May Youth Event is going to be a Messy Game Day on Saturday, May 22 (2-5pm) on the Barn’s property. This event is being planned and led by one of the students: Olivia Creighton. The Youth will get to engage in an egg roulette, mustard tag, paint water balloon fight, and more. All participants should bring clothes they don’t mind getting exceptionally dirty & wet, and a change of clothes. Cost for this event is $5. Please let Will Downie know  if your child is interested in attending.

The Hartford Project

Remote Training Sunday, June 27

The Hartford Project - June 28 thru July 1


H2O and Radiate will be attending The Hartford Project this summer. The Hartford Project is a week long immersion into urban ministry for Youth (students completing 6th grade to 12th). After a remote training day at the Barn on Sunday, June 27 to prepare the team, students will spend the next four days (6/28-7/1; 8:30am-9:15pm) serving alongside students from other churches. The Hartford Project volunteers with nearly 30 organizations in Hartford. Students will serve the community, experience racial reconciliation, and build relationships with the wider body of Christ. Students will also be exposed to a variety of avenues to exercise their spiritual gifts and to be the hands & feet of Jesus. The cost for this event is $200 which includes all meals. Students who want to participate & parents who want to lead/drive should register here: The Hartford Project CPC  AND afterwards register here if participating (not necessary for drivers). Choose Covenant Presbyterian Church as your church and at the end of the registration select that you are "not paying at this time.”


The cost for this event will be $200. Payment is being processed directly through the Barn. The deadline for signing up and initial deposit ($100) is May 16. Final payment is due June 13. Students and parents can participate some or all of the days as your schedule allows, but it is highly recommended that students participate in the whole thing.
