Day Camp Training

"There was a technical glitch in the recording and we do not have audio from the first 45 minutes of the main training session. This video is the last 15 minutes of the training session. This part was only for youth volunteers. It includes information about the youth trip and our conduct expectations. I also read off the names of every youth volunteer to inform them of what team they are on this year. If you have questions about the flow of camp, medical concerns, or safety concerns (content covered in the first 45 minutes) please contact Will Downie--Day Camp Co-Director--at wdownie@cpcbarn.org"

Covenant Day Camp 2021

August 2 - 6

Campers

Covenant Day Camp is a week-long experience for children entering grades K-6. Covenant Day Camp is an environment in which children have the opportunity to discover that the Christian Faith is a living relationship with a loving God. Children will travel in small groups (known as Tribes) to Artisan markets where they will enjoy hands-on craft activities. Street theater dramas will bring to life the Good News of God's great gift in the person of Jesus Christ. Games will solidify the camp themes through fun and play. Each day will start and end with large group singing.

This year our camp will be a hybrid of the Day Camp of years past and a more traditional VBS experience. Our theme this year is Destination Dig and which will see students traveling to modern archaeological sites to unearth the truth about Jesus and the wonderful plan He has for us (Jeremiah 29:13).

Materials Fee

We charge campers a fee of $50 to offset the cost of materials. This fee covers all five days of Day Camp, snacks and drinks throughout camp, and the many crafts campers will make.

Adult Volunteers

To make Day Camp work smoothly we need adult helpers in many roles both before and during camp.

Junior High and High School Volunteers

Junior High students (going into grades 7-8) and Senior High students (going into grades 9-12) are a welcome and necessary part of Day Camp. Student volunteers can expect to grow in their personal relationship with Christ through worship, participating in a Ministry Team that serves the younger campers, daily devotions, leadership training, and FUN. There is also an optional Youth Trip after camp ends on Wednesday to give students an opportunity to bond and fellowship outside of leading Day Camp (trip cost applies).
